Bucsbin (Building University Capacity to Support Business Incubation in Nepal) Symposium, was an Industrial event for Bucsbin where participants from diverse education backgrounds and industry gathered to share their experience in participating a three day workshops at KUSOM and King’s College as experiential learning Bootcamp and Do lab respectively.
From 6th-8th October - Experiential learning Bootcamp @ KUSOM and Do lab @ King’s College , total of 30+ participants in each colleges gathered to participate in a fulfilled yet intense workshop in the respective premises. Each day of workshop were broken down into a variety of activities and learning, spanning from Problem solving to prototyping. This was indeed the first independent workshop where the lab masters form each organising colleges ran their own workshop with the past leanings from Lab masters – Janne Karjalainen and Ulla‐Maija Seppänen , OAMK LABS, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland from Finland. Janne Karjalainen and Ulla‐Maija Seppänen were also actively monitoring the workshop to guide the Labmasters wherever needed.
The fourth and final day was staged at Hotel Himalaya, Kupondole on 9 th October. During the event, participants exhibited their prototypes and also the top six groups presented their solution and findings to the problems they were assigned. With words of encouragement from distinguished guest Mr. Pekka Seppälä, Development Policy Advisor from Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and inspirational speech from Dr. Hari Lamsal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Nepal, the bucsbin team are all geared up for making Bucsbin initiative even more successful. The day was also marked with the launch of Do lab by King’s College as a continuation of bucsbin learning in their pedagogy.
